British Ironworks – Sculpture Park

Any ole iron … any ole iron …

Well, what can I say .. British Ironworks Sculpture Park, Shropshire UK.

What an amazing place for all people, kids, families, photographers and art lovers alike.

What do you do with old iron, bits of machinery, broken cars .. well you can scrap them, or, they can be turned into amazing pieces of artwork by the fabulous forgers at the British Ironworks Centre.

A good couple of hours is needed to venture around this place, taking the time to stop and admire the detail and craftmanship that goes into producing these wonderful artworks which are basically made from scrap.

I have tried to capture some of the statues, and some close-ups of the detail that can seen within them.

As you make your way around the sculpture park, not only do you see so many sculptures, but there are meaningful messages portraying the environment and the planet, urging you think about the environment and the damage mankind has done, and still doing unless we change our ways and values.

Highly recommend a visit if you are ever visiting the area of Shropshire or Oswestry .. you won’t be disappointed !
