Tenby Steam Punk Festival 2023

Saturday 23rd March 2024, I visited Tenby in South Wales to watch the Tenby Steam Punk Festival.

The day was windy, occasionally overcast and cold … but it didn’t stop a variety of people dressing up in all their outfits to parade the streets of Tenby.

There were men, women, young and old, from all parts of the UK who attended to treat everyone to a spectacular event. Photographing proved challenging due to the nature of Tenby, narrow streets, loads of tourists on a good day, other photographers (me included) all wanting photos and the odd pedestrian walking into ‘the shot’ right at the time you got it bang on (always happens but that’s life as a photographer.

Some outfits where quite mild compared to others …. some went all out and dressed up in multi -coloured outfits which to say were bright would be an under-statement.

Feeling the urge to add a bit of atmosphere to the day , I edited some of the images into an olde type feel .. not everyone’s cup of tea but why not …

A fantastic day, glad I made the effort and went to see this event, first time I’ve been to one of these – there will be a next time and I will be better prepared.

All images where taken using my Fuji X-T5 which I have only had for just over a month as a an upgrade to my Fuji X-H1, and paired with the Fuji XF 50-140mm f2.8 lens – which at times was ‘a bit close’ due to the narrow streets of Tenby
